Does the deposit money get paid into the account we paid our rent from?

When a tenant agrees to the release of the Tenancy Deposit money on the DPS website, one of the pieces of information the tenant is required to provide is the bank details for payment which can be any bank account and not necessarily the account the tenant paid the original deposit or rent from.
