The lead tenant should receive, or have received, an e-mail from the Deposit Protection Service (the DPS) requesting your authority to release your Tenancy Deposit. To authorise the release of your Tenancy Deposit you will need your Repayment ID that the DPS e-mailed to you at the start of the tenancy. Additionally you will need your bank details for payment which you should receive in 3-5 working days depending on the bank clearing system.

Not received the e-mail from the DPS?

If you have not yet received the e-mail from the DPS please check your junk/spam folder. If you have definitely not received the e-mail please contact the DPS on 0330 303 0030

Lost your Repayment ID?

If you have lost your Repayment ID, the lead tenant can request a reminder via SMS – using the registered mobile phone number just text REPAY followed by your Deposit ID and the Deposit amount to 07537 404 808. If the DPS cannot send your Repayment ID reminder to your mobile, they will endeavour to send it to your registered e-mail address. Alternatively you can request a new Repayment ID by completing this form here If all else fails please contact the DPS on 0330 303 0030. If you do contact the DPS without your Repayment ID, they will ask you some security questions, typically:

  • What date did your original tenancy start?
  • How much rent per calendar month did you pay at the start of the tenancy?
  • How much Tenancy Deposit did you pay?

…so before contacting the DPS, make sure you have this information to hand (available from your tenancy agreement).
