At the commencement of the tenancy the property should be in a thoroughly clean condition.
We strongly recommend that the property (including all its fixtures and fittings and contents (if any), carpets, curtains (including net curtains), blankets, bedding, upholstery) is cleaned by a professional cleaning company before the start of the tenancy. The reasons for this include:
o Presents the property at it’s very best
o Sets the standard for cleanliness – if the property is cleaned to a high standard from the start, the tenant is more likely to maintain that standard
o Reduces the risk of disputes about cleanliness at the end of the tenancy – receipts for any professional cleaning are attached to the Tenancy Agreement. Conditions in the Tenancy Agreement will require the tenant to clean the property to the same standard at the end of the tenancy and the tenant will be required to provide evidence such as receipts or settled invoices to support this.
