There is no guarantee any tenancy on any property will be allowed  to continue beyond the initial period of the tenancy. Approximately 10 weeks before the end of the initial period, the landlord will decide if they prefer to allow the tenancy to continue, grant a new tenancy or terminate the tenancy.

If your current tenancy was granted conditional on the payment of more than one months rent in advance (e.g. 6 months) because you were unable to prove affordability), the landlord might not be willing to allow the tenancy to continue unless you can prove the risk no longer exists (e.g. able to provide proof of affordability. In this scenario, the landlord may elect to offer you a new tenancy with identical conditions as your current tenancy.
