Check the terms of your tenancy agreement which may or may not define the notice period. Where the tenancy agreement is silent, after the initial period of the tenancy, the notice period would be one full period of the tenancy.
Example: You started your tenancy on the 10th of a month and you pay your rent monthly then the period of the tenancy would be 10th of each month to the 9th of the following month and your notice period would need to be at least one full period.
